Do you have spider-like veins on your legs or face that you want to get rid of? How about wrinkles, sun spots, unwanted hair, acne scars or birthmarks? If so, you may be a good candidate for non-burning laser skin rejuvenation.
New advances in laser technology permit the safe and effective correction of these conditions. However, not all lasers are the same. We use multiple different wavelength devices to treat leg and facial telangiectasia (spider veins) as well as other dermatological conditions like birthmarks, vascular malformations, brown sun spots, liver spots, skin tags, warts and moles.Specific wavelengths cause certain effects on different human tissues. Also, lasers with certain wavelengths are selected based on skin coloration.

Treatment with a laser varies from one patient to another depending on the type of lesion, size of the affected area, the color of the skin around the lesion and the depth to which the lesion extends beneath the skin’s surface. Most patients experience a stinging or burning sensation when a laser pulse is delivered, unless a topical anesthetic cream is applied beforehand. While general anesthesia will not be required, a topical anesthetic dramtically reduces disfomfort. To further reduce discomfort, Dr. Rodriguez’ lasers utilize special cooling systems that lower the temperature of the skin at the treatment site before, during and after laser exposure. Some patients feel virtually nothing during treatment. Others say they experience the sensation of a pinprick or arubber band snapping for a fraction of a second.
It works like this. The laser light penetrates the skin keeping it intact until it reaches its target. Once the laser energy reaches the target, like avessel or ingrown hair, for example, it is immediately absorbed. At this point, the energy turns into heat and destroys the target without harming any surrounding tissue. It then takes a short while for the hair or vessel to disappear.
The treatment of facial wrinkles is progressive with very little downtime, results will begin to be apparent after the third treatment. Generally five to eight treatments are recommended, spaced about two to four weeks apart.
For vein removal, it usually takes up to two or more treatments, six weeks apart, to seal the vessels. It may vary slightly based on the severity of the vessels. Once the vessels are sealed, they will disappear and never reform in the same place. However, based on the individual, new leg veins may form independently in other areas that may require treatment..
