mommy makeover Houston TX

One surgery. Multiple areas addressed. Results that hold.
Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding accomplish something remarkable, and they also leave lasting physical changes that diet and exercise simply cannot reverse. A mommy makeover is a customized combination of surgical procedures, typically a tummy tuck, breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction, designed to address those changes in a single operative setting. Dr. Rodriguez has performed these procedures at his Houston practice for over three decades, bringing board-certified surgical expertise and a genuine understanding of what his patients want: to feel like themselves again. At Rodriguez Rejuvenation, every mommy makeover plan is built around your anatomy, your recovery timeline, and your goals, not a preset package.

What to expect

Before, during, and after

Before
Starting four weeks before surgery, you stop taking blood thinners, NSAIDs, and any herbal supplements that affect clotting, including fish oil, vitamin E, and arnica. Smoking cessation is required at least six weeks prior, as nicotine significantly impairs wound healing and increases complication risk. You also fast for eight hours before your procedure and arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for the first twenty-four hours.
During
You arrive at the accredited surgical facility where Dr. Rodriguez and his anesthesia team prepare you for general anesthesia. Depending on your surgical plan, the procedure runs four to six hours, during which Dr. Rodriguez performs the tummy tuck, breast work, and any liposuction in a carefully sequenced order to optimize your results. You are fully asleep throughout and closely monitored by the anesthesia team from start to finish.
After
You wake up in a recovery suite with surgical dressings in place, a compression garment around your abdomen, and possibly small drains near the tummy tuck incision. Swelling, tightness, and fatigue are expected in the first several days, and pain is managed with prescribed medication. A responsible adult needs to be with you at home for at least the first forty-eight to seventy-two hours.
Recovery

What the first weeks may look like

●
Days 1–4
Swelling and bruising are at their peak, and moving from bed to standing requires assistance. Drains, if placed, are emptied at home twice daily, and Dr. Rodriguez’s team checks in to monitor output and watch for any early signs of concern.
●
Week 1–2
Most patients have their drains removed by the end of the first week, once drainage volume drops below the threshold Dr. Rodriguez sets at discharge. You can move around the house, shower with guidance, and attend your first in-office follow-up, but driving is off limits until you are off prescription pain medication and can react without restriction.
●
Weeks 3–6
By week three, most patients return to desk work and light daily activities, though lifting anything over ten pounds remains restricted until week six. Swelling continues to decrease during this window, and the shape of your abdomen and breasts begins to reflect your actual results.
●
Months 2–6
Full exercise, including core training and lower body work, is typically cleared between six and eight weeks post-surgery. Incision scars continue to mature and fade over the following several months, and by month six, most patients are seeing the close-to-final shape of their results.

What patients say about Mommy Makeover

Frequently Asked Questions about Mommy Makeover

Clear answers to common questions before your consultation.
How much does a mommy makeover cost in Houston?
The total cost depends on which procedures are included in your plan, the surgical facility fees, and anesthesia. At Rodriguez Rejuvenation, pricing is provided after your consultation once Dr. Rodriguez has mapped out your specific surgical combination. Financing options are available through third-party patient financing programs for qualified applicants.
Most patients are mobile and managing light household activity by week two, but lifting children, carrying car seats, or anything that engages the core is restricted for six weeks. Planning for childcare help during the first two to three weeks is not optional; it is a clinical necessity that protects your results and your healing.
Surgery is not contraindicated if you have future pregnancies, but a subsequent pregnancy will stretch the abdominal tissues again and likely reverse the tummy tuck results. Dr. Rodriguez recommends completing your family before pursuing a mommy makeover to preserve the investment you are making in your body.
Combining procedures extends operative time, which increases the statistical risk of blood clots, anesthesia complications, and prolonged healing. Dr. Rodriguez mitigates these risks by operating in an accredited facility with a board-certified anesthesiologist, limiting operative time where possible, and carefully screening candidates for underlying health factors. Patients who smoke, have uncontrolled health conditions, or carry significant surgical risk are counseled honestly about whether combination surgery is appropriate for them.
Stretch marks located on the skin below the navel that is excised during a tummy tuck are removed with that tissue. Stretch marks above the navel or on the thighs and hips are outside the reach of surgery, though some superficial improvement is possible with skin treatments available through our medical spa.
That determination is made in person during your consultation with Dr. Rodriguez, not over the phone or through a general checklist. He evaluates your skin laxity, breast tissue, abdominal wall integrity, and areas of fat distribution before recommending a specific combination. There is no single standard mommy makeover; the plan is built around your anatomy.
If you are ready to have a real conversation about what a mommy makeover can address for you specifically, Dr. Rodriguez’s consultation is the place to start. He reviews every case personally and gives you a straightforward assessment of what surgery can and cannot do.
